VIRTUAL PANEL DISCUSSION: U.S. LANDMINE AND CLUSTER MUNITION POLICY

President Biden’s new anti-personnel landmine policy is an important first step toward the ultimate goal of the United States joining the Mine Ban Treaty and banning the use, production, and transfer of anti-personnel landmines worldwide.

The USCBL-USCMC strongly condemns the use of internationally banned anti-personnel landmines by any party, regardless of any potential military use, because they disproportionately and indiscriminately kill and maim civilians during, and long after, wars have ended.

The USCBL-USCMC calls for an immediate halt to all use of antipersonnel landmines.
